Investigations for K-12 Schools and Universities

We bring specialized expertise to every school investigation, ensuring a supportive experience for all involved. We use gentle, trauma-informed interviewing approaches when handling sensitive Title IX cases involving harassment, discrimination, or other challenging situations. For younger students, we adapt our techniques to be age-appropriate and comfortable, drawing on our extensive experience working with children and teens in educational settings. This careful, considerate approach helps protect students while maintaining the thoroughness required for proper resolution.

UCP Investigations

The Uniform Complaint Procedure (UCP) is a California process that allows students, parents, employees, and school committee members to submit formal complaints to their school district. This procedure was originally established in the California Education Code and has been adopted by most California school districts into their individual policies.

UCP investigations follow a structured format similar to other investigations, with one key difference: UCP requires that investigations be completed within 60 days, unless the person filing the complaint agrees to an extension.
